Inside The Glass Again

I'm inside the glass again.
My wings aren't buzzing anymore.
It wasn't you who closed the lid,
you never knew what it was for.
So I'm inside the glass again,
only due to myself.
I've made myself a shell again,
and climbed inside my hell again.
My wings aren't buzzing anymore.
It wasn't you who closed the lid,
but somehow you made it sure.
The lid won't budge,
So please don't judge,
I'm inside the glass again,
If only I knew what for.

  5. Thank you Amin. :)

Well, the idea came to me when I was writing some stuff for poetry class waaay back in time. :P Somehow it felt as if there was glass in between me and the rest of the world, like I was watching everything and seeing it for what it was, not buying the lies or walking away from things that were uncomfortable. I imagined what I saw was the raw truth. I was having a lot of nightmares at this point. The "Poet" part of it is how I think of myself, writing about that truth as if was my duty to.

Later on the jar has come to symbolize other things. Like I'm not the only one in it, but that everyone I love is in there too, and that the rest of the world is on the outside. Or that everyone has their very own glass, meaning their own eyes, and their own way of looking at things.

We all watch the world from behind a filter, a glass, made out of our experiences in life, which makes us judge things in certain ways.

My glass just happened to be a jar. =)

And sometimes, I guess, it's also got to do with the feeling that you're trapped inside your own life and won't ever get out, just lead the same life. Kind of like the theme of one of Alev's poems where she said sth about always pushing the repeat button :D =)

Omg, if you actually read through all that, you deserve cheers. Cheers! :P :D
